Trombone
James Hall is a jazz trombonist, composer, writer, and teacher living in New York City. Originally from Omaha, Nebraska, he graduated from the Lawrence Conservatory of Music in 2007. He then spent two years at the helm of James Hall Group in Vienna, Austria, earning recognition at the Antti Rissanen International Jazz Trombone Competition, the J.J. Johnson International Jazz Trombone Competition, and an ASCAPlus award for composition. During his time in Vienna, James freelanced in styles ranging from Balkan Jazz and R&B to Opera. James currently enjoys a busy performing schedule with various ensembles in the greater New York area.
Having taught private trombone lessons since 2000, James has experience with students of all ages and levels, from beginners through undergraduate music majors. James offers trombone lessons in Brooklyn and Queens. For more information, please eMail (james@jameshallmusic.com).
